After high school I received an associate's degree in science from Chattanooga State, then I went on to receive a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix, Arizona. I am certified to teach Kindergarten through 6th grade.

I have had many opportunities to work with children over the last several years, and feel very blessed for all of them. This is my 5th year as a classroom teacher at Hixson Elementary; however, I have taught children or worked with them in previous years as well. I was a Pre-K teacher for about 4 years in Soddy Daisy prior to teaching at Hixson, I have served as a camp counslor for an awesome summer camp (Camp All Star) several years, coached girls cheerleading, served as a teacher for Vacation Bible School,  and taught grades K - 5 at my church for about 10 years on Wednesday nights!

I was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Throughout school I remember wanting to become several different things when I grew up, and all of them dealt with working with children. So I finally decided that if I was going to set a goal to make a difference in the life of a child and still be the "big kid" that I am; I needed to become a teacher! Kids can make you laugh and cry all in the same day, but seeing the spark in their eyes as they learn something new is when I know that my job is a blessing! Aside from teaching I have also been blessed with a wonderful husband of 10 years and two little boys that I love dearly! My oldest son Gaige is 7 years old, and my little man Gunnar is 16 months. In my spare time I enjoy watching my son play baseball, going on fun family outings, shopping, and so much more!
