I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville for my bachelors and masters in Deaf Education. I did a practicum in my undergraduate studies at the UT Speech and Hearing Center and at Tennessee School for the Deaf (TSD). I did a semester long internship at Bearden Elementary School in an aural/oral classroom for kindergarten students, and a semester long internship at TSD with Jeanne Fair, teaching physical education to elementary students and health to middle school students.

I am currently beginning my 11th year of teaching at Hixson Elementary School. Each year, the grade levels I teach changes. Throughout the years, I have taught grades prek through 5th grade. This year, I will be teaching grades kindergarten through 4th grade.

Hello, and thanks for visiting my webpage! I am Hard of Hearing and I have a cochlear implant in my right ear and I wear a hearing aid in my right ear. I use sign language and spoken language to communicate with others and with my students. I am very passionate about my students and advocating for them, due to my own hearing loss.

In my free time, I enjoy running, spending time with family and friends, and attending various Deaf events.

Please feel free to email me (use the link above) if you have any questions!
